N.G. How is Dallas Fashion Week helping your business?

S.M. Dallas Fashion Week was a game-changer for me. I was able to connect with potential buyers and showcase my work to a wider audience. The event also provided a valuable platform for networking with creative individuals, models, makeup and hair stylists, and members of the community. The amazing production of the fashion show and visual assets of the event has now become a valuable addition to my portfolio. Thanks to these visual assets and active presence on social media, I was able to attract connections with established stylists who work with prominent singers.

It is always a privilege and honor to work with talented individuals, especially when their artistry and passion align with yours. In my case, it couldn’t have been truer as I had the pleasure of collaborating with Miss Grand Florida Ivana Garcia for Dallas Fashion Week. It was such an honor to see my designs showcased on such a prestigious platform, and Ivana was the perfect muse to bring them to life. I cannot thank her and Dallas Fashion Week enough for the support and the opportunity to collaborate with her. Dallas Fashion Week truly opened doors for my business in the fashion industry.

N.G. What are the key considerations for Fashion Designers participating in their First Fashion Week?

S.M. It’s a good question how to make a statement and a splash at Your First Fashion Week. In my opinion, the utmost priority for Fashion Designers should be to maintain the brand’s essence while delivering exceptional quality. This is the key to setting yourself apart from the competition during a fashion show.

N.G. Share with us your favorite brands and what makes them stand out in your opinion?

S.M. Elie Saab on of my favorite designers! His couture work that deserves attention is his unique use of fabrics. Saab’s choice of fabrics is luxurious, and he has an innate ability to blend them effortlessly. This allows him to create garments that are both ethereal and structured. His expertise in draping and his knowledge of layering helped him create gowns with unusual volume, resulting in a stunning visual impact.

One of the hallmarks is his attention to detail. He pays attention to the minutest detail, and every stitch seems to be in its place. From the cut of the dress to the number of pleats, everything is expertly crafted to create a flawless piece of clothing. This level of craftsmanship is what makes his pieces truly one-of-a-kind. Elie Saab is also known for his use of the perfect silhouette. He understands the female form well and knows how to accentuate it in his designs.

Another iconic brand I admire is Valentino, his creations are breathtaking, and they are not only beautiful to look at but also a testament to his artistic expertise. The ability of the brand to create garments that are both modern and timeless is another reason why his couture work stands out. He is not one to follow trends blindly, and his designs are never too futuristic. Valentino’s collections have a classic charm that seems to be timeless, and one can wear his designs even after years; they still appear relevant. His signature style of combining the traditional with the contemporary gives his clothing an edge that is all his.

N.G. Can you please give us your favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share how that was relevant to you in your life?

S.M. One of my favorite life lesson quotes is “Always remain humble.”

I believe this to be of utmost importance as it has allowed me to establish strong connections with numerous individuals.
