This work is part of a diptych, the picture shows the wall of the prison cell, called “Wall. Concrete.” This picture depicts a lack of exit, isolation, impossibility of movement. Another part of the diptych – the picture depicts a prison cell window with a broken lattice. In this window you can see the head of the famous statue, which stands in Kiev. This picture is a visualization of freedom, after a long stay in a confined space. The painting was presented at an exhibition in the Museum of the History of Kiev.

Iryna Fedorenko is a contemporary Ukrainian artist and art expert who has been creating her works under the pseudonym SEMIRA for more than 20 years.
Iryna was born in Mariupol, lived and worked in Kiev for several years, fled the war in Germany, now lives in Munich, a member of the German Artists Association.
Irina is known for her incredible portraits, which expose the soul of her characters. Irina's paintings have been exhibited in Brussels for members of the European Parliament, in museums and galleries in Europe, USA and China, presented at the Venice Biennale, and are in the collections of several museums, including the private collections of Andy Warhol's family and Johnny Depp.
