Ukrainian artist Johanna Deflore, moved to Switzerland because of the war.
Being a businesswoman, she finds special inspiration in painting, because there she can explore deep connections - between perception and representation, inner and outer world, shadows and lights, impulses and quiet moments.
Within 10 years she has been regularly taking private lessons of famous Ukrainian artist, master of Ukrainian impressionism and plain-air Mykola Kononenko, senior teacher of Ukrainian Art Academy Yana Antonova and famous Ukrainian modern artist Marianna Abramova.
She tends to repeat the floral motifs and pastel colours in her work to express the layers of femininity, evoke positive inspiration and pure beauty. In her last works she has been inspired by the colours of incredible sunsets and sunrises of Geneva lake.
This artist's commitment to painting nature, particularly flowers, is driven by her belief that art can serve as a reminder of nature’s beauty, encouraging a more intimate relationship with our environment, creating greater sense of harmony and balance in life.
